LTC A. Sorochin on Moldova's Participation in Combined Endeavor 08

Combined Endeavor 2008 multinational exercise was conducted on 29 April - 16 May in Baumholder, Germany. The exercise provides the planning and executing interoperability testing of command, control, communications and computer systems; it offers the participating nations an opportunity to examine ways to better communicate with first responders like local fire and police departments, particularly in mass casualty situations, such as terrorist attacks.

The National Army of Moldova participated in „Combined Endeavor 2008” along with the representatives of other partner nations. According to LTC Igor Zavalski, Head of J6, Communication and Informatics Department of the Main Staff of Moldova, the main goal of the exercise was to focus on four levels of interoperability: human, technical, procedural and operational, all levels being equally important for achieving true interoperability.
