Military Exercise "Under Blue Sky – 2008", Moldova
Under Blue Sky – 2008 military exercise was held at the Bulboaca Military Training Area on 15 April - 8 May, 2008.
COL Mihail Buclis, Commander of „Stefan cel Mare” Brigade, Head of the military exercise stated that the main goal of this event was to train the National Army contingent in fulfilling the constitutional peacekeeping operations in the Security Zone.
470 militaries participated in this exercise undergoing training at 9 different points; at the final, “tactical applications” stage additionally 46 military machines were involved, including a Mi-8 helicopter.
The concept of the military exercise Under Blue Sky - 2008 was elaborated applying the methodology of the multinational peacekeeping exercise „Cooperative Lancer-Longbow”; the latter was held in Moldova in the autumn 2006.
